Playing. Exploring. Learning.
Welcome to New Generations Childcare & Preschool! The well-being of your children is foremost in our minds as we strive to provide the best child care possible for our families. Above all we want their experiences to be safe, positive and supportive.
New Generations is an outreach ministry of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. The program began in 1964 and originally started as a Mom’s Day Out program. Over the years, it has transformed and become the program it is today – a developmental program for young children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age that strives to meet the cognitive, spiritual, physical, language, social and emotional needs of all children. New Generations is an unlicensed registered child care program approved by the Indiana State Department of Health and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. New Generations follows the child/caregivers ratios set by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.

Hours of Operation
Our hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Educational Goals
1) Our primary goal is to create an atmosphere in which children and caregivers can interact in a positive, loving manner. We encourage our caregivers to share experiences, knowledge, and concerns.
2) Our goal is to help each child understand and accept himself or herself. We hope to remain sensitive to the individual needs and developmental stages of each child while encouraging independence and self-confidence.
3) We provide a safe and stimulating atmosphere where children will feel free to explore and experiment. We encourage children to expend their knowledge about their environment and to develop an understanding and respect for the physical world.
4) Through our interaction with children and with each other, our caregivers exemplify the basic tenets of Christianity, including treating everyone fairly. We hope to encourage our students to respect others’ beliefs and to develop respect for themselves and nature.
5) Learning requires active thinking and experimenting through play activities to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world in which they live.
Caregivers Training
All New Generations caregivers undergo fingerprinting, criminal background checks, drug screening, and TB testing before beginning their employment. They also receive training in CPR and, for infant caregivers, safe sleeping procedures.
Admission Policies
New Generations will accept children who are at a stage of growth and development which enables them to benefit from the program, and for whose age level the center is staffed and equipped to provide care. There shall be no discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. Families must complete and submit the appropriate documents before their child can be admitted to the program.
Family Involvement
Family/Caregivers Communication: We believe that communication between caregivers and families is vital in your child’s development. We encourage you to speak with your child’s caregiver at drop off and pick up time. If you need to meet with your child’s caregiver, please feel free to arrange the time with the caregiver or stop by the office to set up a time.
Volunteering: There are many opportunities for parents/guardians to get involved with New Generations. Assisting with the website, marketing/advertising for caregivers, marketing/advertising for enrollment openings at New Generations and special activities are just some of the ways parents can help.
Observing/Visiting Your Child’s Room: Parents are welcome to observe their child’s/children’s room at any time through the observation window. Parents and guests need to make arrangements with caregivers before visiting a room. Some children do not feel safe when “strangers” visit their room. In these cases, it is best to observe your child/children through the observation window instead of entering the classroom.
